Today we welcome Brad Parnell to That Book Place!
That Book Place: Did you always want to be an author?
Brad Parnell: No. I originally wanted to be a comic book artist. I would have loved to have been an NBA player or a rock star. More realistically I had thought of a career as a comic strip artist/author but that was as close to author as I had wanted to be.

This afternoon we are interviewing Patrick D'Orazio.
That Book Place: Did you always want to be an author?
Patrick D'Orazio: I think I have always been a writer, even since I was little. I would write ten page hand scrawled sagas for assignments that asked for a one page essay back in grade school. I wrote my first fantasy adventure novel in high school, and I gave serious consideration to majoring in journalism in college, although I didn’t head down that path. This morning we are interviewing Marge Fulton author of The Holler
That Book Place: Did you always want to be an author?
Marge Fulton: Not really. I've always been a very keen observer and love to psychoanalyze. I began writing when my kids were small. Reading to them, especially fantasy picture books got me interested in writing. Also I have worked in a few institutions. You never forget many of those residents and they sometimes become recycled into characters to allow them a better shot at life.

This morning we welcome Jan Scarbrough to That Book Place for an Interview.
That Book Place: Did you always want to be an author?
Jan Scarbrough: My dreams of being a writer started in the ninth grade thanks to a very special English teacher. That year I actually reported on freelance writing for my career project. However, I didn’t seriously pursue my dreams until after a life threatening illness in 1988. After that, I figured there was no time like the present to get started!
