Frank's Review
Book one in the trilogy by Brad Parnell called The Legend of Gwerinatha, Branwen's Garden is a delightful young adult fantasy novel. It is a coming of age tale about Robert, a young man who is basically a slacker and knows it. His family seems to worry about his future and lets him know about it at every opportunity they can.
After learning some of his family history from his sister, Robert and Cameron, a childhood friend discover they have a key to another world. Not fully believing it will work he takes a trip there where he meets a large cast of interesting character's including a talking wolf named Louie. Throughout the book Robert learns what is and is not important in life and grows up fast to become a stand up young man.
This book was a fantastic and easy read. You really get emotionally attached to the various character's. It will be interesting to see the direction the next two books take.
Overall I give this book 4 out of 5.
